If you look closely you can see that this is probably a clip-in pre-braided hair extensions.
When your hair is long enough for this type of braid, the key is to first create a nape level ponytail with a hair-friendly elastic you don't mind destroying. You might want to invest in Blax elastic bands. DON'T use rubber bands. No matter what.
Once you have the nape level ponytail and secured the pony, separate hair into three equally divided sections. Take each individual section and twist it clockwise to the desired consistency. Secure the first twisted section at the end. Repeat with all of the three strands.
Take each twisted section and then create a three strand Dutch or English braid.
After you've created the braid you can optionally snip the elastic at the top. Wrap the final elastic around the three twisted & plaited strands.
If you wish, you can snip the individual tails of the three twisted sections. Or you can combine them into one final elastic. Experiment to find the best look for your hair.
