Hi Lea Lea,
How are you? So good to see you here on the forum.
Some of the best hot rollers have either velvet flocking or have a foamy material wrapping to protect the hair from the hot rollers. They transmit heat more evening. I love the Conair hot rollers.
My favorite are Conair CHV14JXR Extreme Heat Jumbo and Super Jumbo Rollers you can buy on Amazon for the best price.
The key to great body & awesome curls is the product used to prep hair before you roll. Also rolling strategically helps a lot. You may not want to use the largest curlers and may want to to with the smaller sized barrels.
BTW did you know that some hairstylists will prep fine/thin hair with a very very light coating of oil on the ends before rolling to help the curls form better.
Also, even after the curls are cool, leave them in as long as possible to help the curls set.
It takes a little practice, but when you get a hot roller system that works great for your hair, it can be even better and less damaging than a hot iron.
Let me know if you have any questions. I personally prefer a hot roller set to a hot iron set and I have medium to thick naturally wavy/curly hair.
Hope that helps you.
